Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen

I had been meaning to check this show out since it released a number of months ago, and I'm glad I finally got around to it!

Was this show perfect? No. There were threads that were never answered, scenes that felt like they were added just to give some scares when the plot was moving slower. But this family was full of entertaining characters once things got rolling.

She is the perfect bride to be, surrounded by a cast of strange characters that keep you wondering what secrets their family is hiding. Adam DiMarco plays Nicky, Rachel's fiancé. And while he was great, it's some of his family members that steal the show. Gus Birney is hilarious as the uptight sister Portia, who wants nothing more than to please her parents. Speaking of parents, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Ted LeVine are also great.

So, what is this show even about? Well, I always keep my reviews spoiler-free, but as the synopsis says, a certain atmosphere of horror is felt the week before the celebration of an unfortunate wedding.

That doesn't do it justice. I went in blind, immediately getting Get Out vibes, but those vibes morphed over time. The show has plenty of heart, scares, and humor mixed in. And while some plot elements didn't work for me, I still had a great time with it. I give it a solid 7 out of 10.
